We can't fix the entire health system overnight. But we're doing everything in our power to make it better for you.

The CIGNA Foundation: committed to the health of individuals and families and the well-being of their communities.

"Do unto others ..." is more than a compelling credo for leading a good life. It's also an essential element in living a healthy life. This holds true for individuals and corporate citizens too. Respecting others, getting involved, providing support: each has a role to play in making us both feel better and be better.

To help fulfill their responsibilities as corporate citizens, many leading companies establish charitable foundations. These independent entities provide grants to nonprofit organizations doing work that the foundation feels has merit. The best charitable foundations reflect the interests, expertise and concerns of their affiliated corporations, and meaningfully engage the employees of those companies in their efforts.

Like its corporate affiliate, the CIGNA Foundation is committed to the health of individuals and families and the well-being of their communities. And like the best corporate foundations, the CIGNA Foundation involves CIGNA's people in its charitable work.

Here are some of the ways the CIGNA Foundation is making it better:

Better for our country

America's strength rests in our diversity. Embracing that diversity makes all of us better. The Memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will make that tradition of respect for others part of the legacy we pass on to future generations. The CIGNA Foundation has joined many other leading corporate foundations as a Proud Sponsor of the MLK Memorial.

Better for our communities

By definition, a community is a group of individuals sharing common goals. The well-being of any community rests on the opportunities it provides its members to achieve those goals. In addition to its grantmaking programs, the CIGNA Foundation provides numerous community-building volunteer opportunities both on and off the job for our people.
